Fluid Handling

By SPX Corporation

Across these brands is a complete range of hygienic, sanitary valves that are especially made for the food processing industry and comprise over 30 different lines. You can choose from simple manual valves to fully automated valves that offer you optimal processing flexibility.

SPX offers two trusted brands of sanitary valves:

  • APV
  • Waukesha Cherry-Burrell

The APV valves are of compact, low weight design and maintenance friendly - with no heavy lifting requirements or need for lifting gear. They are easy to remove from the process line with quick and easy disassembly and reassembly to keep maintenance time to a minimum. All wetted parts are made from stainless steel and they are specifically designed for food processing needs with most having 3A and EHEDG certification, providing assurance of sanitary design integrity.

The Waukesha Cherry Burrell (WCB) brand valves compliment the APV range. The bodies are machined in one piece from bar stock, making them very robust and resistant to large temperature changes. This method of manufacturing also enables SPX WCB to easily make custom bodies to meet exact requirements for dimensions or even material variants. The valves are easy to maintain with modular construction making parts easily replaceable and retrofitting options offered when models are upgraded, negating the need and cost of replacing the whole unit. All have the peace of mind of 3A certification for sanitary design.

Valve sealing materials are all FDA-approved. Crevice free sealing ensures there is no gap between the seal material and the seal groove where product can get trapped. Valves are available in standard and custom designs up to 8 in/200 mm to meet most production capacity needs.

Benefits of SPX valves include:

  • Gentle product handling - ball-shaped housing
  • Optimal cleanability and reduced CIP times - ball-shaped housing, crevice-free sealing
  • Reliable performance - stable actuators
  • Product safety - specific models adhere to 3A, PMO, CSA, CSN and EHEDG standards
