Published 07 March 2013 | By SPX Corporation

The APV and Waukesha Cherry-Burrell (WCB) brands from SPX offer a complete range of hygienic, sanitary valves that are especially made for the food processing industry. The extensive ranges offer models from butterfly to double seat mix proof valves.

An integral part of every processing plant

SPX has great knowledge of food and beverage applications. The valve ranges are part of a total array of equipment designed for the broad range of demands from this industry. They sit alongside other leading technology products including pumps, heat exchangers, homogenizers and mixers to make a complete solution offering for even the most challenging of process conditions.

The APV valves are of compact, low weight design and maintenance friendly - with no heavy lifting requirements or need for lifting gear. They are easy to remove from the process line with quick and easy disassembly and reassembly to keep maintenance time to a minimum. All wetted parts are made from stainless steel and they are specifically designed for food processing needs with most having 3-A and EHEDG certification, providing assurance of sanitary design integrity.

The WCB brand valves are designed and manufactured in Wisconsin, USA and compliment the APV range. The bodies are machined from a solid piece of bar stock, making them very robust and resistant to large temperature changes. This method of manufacturing also enables SPX WCB to easily make custom bodies to meet exact requirements for dimensions or even exotic material variants.

The valves are easy to maintain with modular design and construction making parts easily replaceable and retrofitting options offered when models are upgraded, negating the need and cost of replacing the whole unit. All have the peace of mind of 3-A and EHEDG certification for sanitary design.

These SPX brands bring with them a confidence that the equipment is designed for the food and beverage industry. They offer benefits in reduced cost of ownership through maintenance friendly features in robust products with long service lives. SPX has a wide
range of equipment for food processing and is able to offer complete solutions with the expertise of a full staff of application engineers to help and support the user throughout the lifetime of their equipment.
