Wave Energy Drink Ramps Up Presence In New York

DBR Staff Writer Published 01 July 2010

Wave Energy Drink, a North Carolina based energy drink maker, has inked an agreement with New York based Ketshegar Industries for distribution of its energy drink in New York City. The company expects to benefit from new and expanded markets across the New York city and Long Island.

Ketshegar Industries placed the Wave Energy Drink line-up in its 30 service stations and convenience store outlets from Queens to the eastern tip of Long Island.

Currently, Wave Energy Drink is sold through accounts in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Westchester and Staten Island. The company's distribution partner in the city is Beyer Farms, which is based out of Jamaica, New York.

In the grocery category, Wave Energy recently signed a deal with their first Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) Store in Fort Salonga. The company is currently this store as a test-market in the hope of branching out to an additional 11 IGA locations later this summer.

Stephen Halpin, president of Wave Energy, said: “Wave is really starting to catch on with the public here in NY,” he stated. “There is no shortage of accounts to go after in the city and Beyer [Farms] has really helped to open some doors for us.

“However, we won’t be satisfied until we meet the goals we established when we started. It’s up to us to continue to get the word out about Wave Energy Drink and with summer being here, there’s no better time for that message.”

Wave Energy Drink is available in two flavors, Regular and Sugar-free, and comes packed in 16oz cans. Wave Energy presently operates around 100 accounts in the city and nearly 400 in total.
