Tazo To Introduce New Line Of Naturally Sweetened Bottled Teas

Tazo, a part of Starbucks Corporation, will launch a new line of Naturally Sweetened Bottled Teas, which it claims, is zero calorie. The line of tea will be launched at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California.

The new teas come in Passion, Zen and Refresh blends. The company further claims that these are brewed from real tea leaves, botanicals, and stevia.

Michael DeLaCruz, manager of Beverage R&D at Tazo, said: “Our new line of bottled teas provides a first-of-its-kind, enticing option for consumers seeking naturally sweetened tea beverages without the calories.

“We’re certain consumers will enjoy the line and hope they will visit www.tazo.com/zero for a chance to be one of the first to try the refreshing new flavors—Passion, Zen and Refresh.”

The company said that Passion is a blend of hibiscus, lemongrass, and rose hips, Zen is a combination of green tea, lemongrass and spearmint, and Refresh is made with Pacific Northwest peppermint leaves, spearmint and a pinch of tarragon.

Starting from April 1, 2010, Tazo Zero Calorie Naturally Sweetened Bottled Teas will be available at Whole Foods and select natural food retailers nationwide. Each 13.8 fl oz bottle will be offered for the suggested retail price of $1.49 – 1.79.
