Stock Spirits acquires three spirits brands from Bohemia Sekt

Published 13 October 2016

Stock Spirits Group has acquired three spirits brands from Bohemia Sekt for €5m to further expand its business in the Czech Republic.

The brands, Prazska Vodka, Nordic Ice and Dynybyl Gin, were added to Stock Spirits' portfolio.

While Prazska Vodka is one of the popular vodka brands in Czech Republic, Dynybyl Gin is the best selling gin brands in the country.

The purchase is in line with Stock's strategy of expanding its portfolio in its target markets via acquisitions that improve shareholder value.

By the end of this month, Stock Spirits expects to start the marketing and distribution work for the brands. By January 2017, it expects to fully integrate the brands and start production at Czech facilities in Plzen.

Stock Spirits chief executive Mirek Stachowicz said: "We are delighted to add Prazska, Nordic Ice and Dynybyl to our line-up, having tracked these brands for some considerable time.

“They have a rich heritage and, with the appropriate brand investment and nurturing within our wider spirits portfolio, their addition will ensure Stock remains at the forefront of the Czech spirits market, which is so central to our business.

“As we stressed in our interim results announcement, we will continue to pursue further smaller bolt-on acquisitions to add to our brands line-up."
