Starbucks launches Teavana Shaken Iced Teas in Mexico

DBR Staff Writer Published 20 July 2016

US coffee giant Starbucks has launched Teavana Shaken Iced Teas in Mexico.

Teavana Shaken Iced Teas are now available in two flavors in over 500 Starbucks stores throughout Mexico. The move allows the company to meet customers’ increasing interest in specialty teas.

Starbucks developed Teavana Iced Strawberry Green Tea Lemonade exclusively for the Mexico market.

The beverage includes iced Teavana green tea, which is lightly sweetened with a strawberry sauce, classic syrup and a splash of lemonade.

The other flavor, Teavana Iced Mango Black Tea Lemonade, is a mix of freshly brewed premium black tea, mango, a hint of sweet passion fruit, and a splash of lemonade. It is also available in the US, Canada and Europe.

Starbucks Mexico director Marc Branet said: “The tea category in Mexico is well positioned for innovation and rapid growth.

“Just as Starbucks pioneered a new retail experience for coffee and espresso, the expansion of the Teavana experience here in Mexico provides the opportunity to do the same with more consumers looking for a unique and personalized tea experience.”

The company brews Teavana teas are from pure teas and botanicals. Each iced tea will be handcrafted by Starbucks baristas.

The teas will then be shaken nearly 10 times in order to make sure that all the ingredients are chilled rapidly.

Apart from Mexico, several stores in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Aruba, Curaçao and Puerto Rico, are currently offering Teavana Iced Tea.

The company plans to launch Teavana iced and hot tea beverages in additional markets in Latin America and the Caribbean later this year.
