SodaStream unveils new Fizz home soda maker

DBR Staff Writer Published 02 September 2010

SodaStream, an Israeli manufacturer of home beverage carbonation systems, has launched the Fizz, a new version in the company's home soda maker family.

SodaStream claims that the new soda maker version comes with the interactive Fizz Chip digital screen, a high-tech indicator designed to help consumer understanding of their individual carbonation technique and usage.

The patented Fizz Chip shows the amount of CO2 remaining in the carbonator and also shows the strength of carbonation in the drink such as light, medium or strong.

The SodaStream Fizz home soda maker is a countertop appliance available in a range of colors including white, black, green, metallic red and shiny blue to fit any kitchen atmosphere.

The company further claims that Fizz Chip indicator offers dual-benefit of making sparkling drinks, while controlling the level of CO2 in the carbonator.

SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum said that after three years of development, the company is proud to introduce the SodaStream Fizz, bringing the category to a new level.

The Fizz offers a user experience breakthrough by helping to make homemade soda even easier. The interactive Fizz Chip indicator lets the user see how fizzy their drink will be and also how much CO2 remains in the carbonator,” Birnbaum said.

The global marketing campaign elements include TV, print, digital, 3-D video, and out of home media.

The Fizz will be available for purchase during the upcoming holiday season in several markets across Europe and is planned for retail distribution in the US beginning spring 2011.

SodaStream products are available in 39 countries around the world.
