San Miguel cuts ribbon on Thai beverage plant - newspaper
San Miguel Corporation, the Asian food and beverage conglomerate, has started operations at its new non-alcoholic beverage plant in Thailand's Rayong province, according to The Manila Bulletin Online.
<p>Philippines-based San Miguel is understood to have told the Philippine Stock Exchange: The company has started to produce juice and juice drinks for the Thailand market.<br /><br />The news follows reports last week that San Miguel was planning a push into the non-alcoholic segment in Asia. <br /><br />Jose Daniel Javier, vice president and general director for the company's non-alcoholic international business told The Bangkok Post the unit will focus on fruit juice in South China, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.<br /><br />The company plans to introduce new fruit juice products made in the factory next year, the paper said.</p>
