PepsiCo Intends To Acquire PBG, PepsiAmericas
Offer out to both the companies, says PepsiCo CEO
US-based PepsiCo, a producer of soft drink and snack food, has plans to acquire Pepsi Bottling Group and PepsiAmericas, as reported by Reuters, quoting the chief executive of PepsiCo.
At the opening of a new Pepsi plant in the Moscow region, Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo, has said that the offer is out for both companies and PepsiCo hopes that it to reaches its conclusion at some point.
Pepsi Bottling Group engages in the manufacture, sale and distribution of Pepsi-Cola beverages. PBG generates approximately $14 billion in annual sales. It operates in the US, Canada, Greece, Mexico, Russia, Spain and Turkey, accounting for more than one-half of the Pepsi-Cola beverages sold in North America, and about 40% of the Pepsi-Cola system volume worldwide.
PepsiAmericas engages in the production, sale and delivery of more than 200 different beverages. PepsiAmericas operates as Pepsi-Cola anchor bottler and serves more than 200 million consumers in 17 countries worldwide. PepsiAmericas generated $4.9 billion in annual revenue and accounts for approximately 19% of all the Pepsi products sold in the US.
