Pepsi releases new flavoured cola for Hispanics

DBR Staff Writer Published 21 May 2015

PepsiCo has launched Pepsi Limon, a flavored cola made with lime juice, inspired by the preferences of Hispanic consumers.

According to the company, Pepsi Limon combines the flavor of Pepsi with a hint of real lime juice.

Featuring real sugar, Pepsi Limon gives a tart taste that is popular among Hispanics.

Pepsi Cultural & Commercial Strategy Melissa Miranda said: "Pepsi knows the importance of authentic flavor and delivering on its promise for great tasting products.

"Pepsi's roots have long showcased the brand's connection and affinity with Hispanic consumers and Pepsi Limon was created with those consumer preferences in mind."

Pepsi Limon is available in 20 oz. and 2 liter bottles in select markets, including California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Chicago.

In 2005, Pepsi launched a lime variety. However the company discontinued the artificially-flavored lime cola.

PepsiCo products are available in more than 200 countries. The company generated more than $66bn net revenue in 2014.
