Peet's Coffee & Tea unveils Alta de Dota Single Origin Special Roast
Peet’s Coffee & Tea, a premier specialty coffee and tea company in the US, has launched new Alta de Dota Single Origin Special Roast for a limited time.
The new coffee roast is available at retail outlets and online on the company's website 1 September till 31 October 2010, and comes for $14.95 per pound.
Alta de Dota hails from Coope Dota, a Costa Rican coffee cooperative which is acclaimed for its sustainability practices.
Peet’s Coffee & Tea roastmaster and lead coffee buyer Doug Welsh said that Alta de Dota has a citric quality and deep, fruity undertones, which is a result of leaving a quantity of the coffee cherries on the tree until purple ripe.
The California-based coffee company said that the roll-out of Alta de Dota in the US is a part of its limited edition product line-up and sustainability efforts.
Peet's sustainability practices also include green roasting, involvement with Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), focused philanthropy and green certified offerings.
