Marie Brizard signs distribution deal with Eurocash

DBR Staff Writer Published 01 December 2016

French drinks group Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits (MBWS) has signed a new distribution agreement with Eurocash to strengthen its presence in the Polish market.

The deal will focus on brands, including Krupnik vodka and Wiliam Peel whisky.

Due to take full effect from January 2017, the deal is part of a wider route-to-market reconfiguration for MBWS as it plans to meet the goals of its BiG 2008 strategic plan.

Eurocash distributes fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) distributors in Poland. Its revenues totaled PLN20.3bn (€4.56bn) in 2015.

MBWS has a portfolio of brands in their respective market segments, including William Peel scotch whisky, Sobieski vodka, Fruits & Wine flavored wine and Marie Brizard liqueurs.

Earlier in the week, Sobieski Trade, MBWS’ wholly-owned distributor in Poland, was awarded a distribution contract by Coca-Cola HBC Polska for its products in Polish traditional trade.

As part of the contract, Sobieski Trade will distribute Coca-Cola HBC Polska products that include Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Kropla Beskidu, Nestea, Powerade, Kropla Delice, Burn and Monster to the retail sector in the country.

MBWS said the partnership will expand its distribution network and increase the presence of its products in traditional trade stores in Poland.

MBWS further said: “The partnership also underscores the key role that MBWS’ wholesale business plays, and the distribution reach it provides the company across Poland.”

Headquartered in Paris, MBWS which manufactures and sells a portfolio of wine and spirits mainly in Europe and the US, reported 1.9% increase in its Q3 2016 consolidate net sales to €104.3m, compared to €103.4m in the same period last year.
