Jones Soda launches salmon-flavored carbonate

Published:15-November-2005

Specialty US beverage maker Jones Soda has announced a new addition to its unusually flavored soda range that currently includes turkey and gravy, corn on the cob and broccoli casserole.

The Seattle-based company hopes that its new smoked salmon pate soda will prove as popular as the other equally surprising lines it has offered over the last two holiday seasons, launching the orange-hued fish-flavored drink in acknowledgement of the Pacific Northwest's salmon catch.

"When you smell it, it's got that smoked salmon aroma," said chief executive Peter van Stolk.

The salmon-flavored beverage will be offered as part of a $13 'regional holiday pack' that also includes other unusual sodas such as turkey and gravy, corn on the cob and broccoli casserole.

Jones Soda is also selling its similarly-priced 'holiday pack', which features beverages flavored in line with condiments typically associated with Thanksgiving: wild herb stuffing, cranberry sauce and Brussels sprouts with prosciutto.
