Diageo Plans To Sell Bell's, Tanqueray No. Ten Brands In Russia

It has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Russian "Vodka Artel YAT" plant to produce Smirnoff vodka in Russia

Diageo plans to sell its whiskey Bell's brand, as well as Tanqueray No. Ten gin in the premium segment in the Russian drinks market, reported FoodBizDaily.

Irina Zhdanova, sales director of Diageo Russia, said: “Tanqueray No. Ten will be primarily, presented, in the premium segment of the Russian drinks market. Russia has already had a stable group of consumers, accustomed to high quality alcoholic drinks and cocktails based on them.”

By the end of 2009, the company plans to introduce several new products in Russia, and also intends to augment its international brands in smaller packaging. In addition, the company seeks to expand its sales in the Russian vodka market.

According to Russian media, Diageo and Russian Vodka Artel YAT plant have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement on the production of Smirnoff vodka in Russia. According to the terms of the agreement Yat, along with others, would produce Smirnoff vodka in Russia.
