Brown-Forman releases limited edition 2010 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon
Brown-Forman Corporation, a Kentucky-based diversified producer and marketer of alcohol brands, has introduced the 2010 expression of its vintage-dated Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, which is bottled at 95 proof.
The spirit company said that Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is a limited-edition bourbon, which is released annually in the memory of its founder, George Garvin Brown.
Old Forester, which comes in decanter style glass bottle, is acclaimed to be the only bourbon produced before, during and after Prohibition by its original distiller, and still available on the market.
Brown-Forman Master Distiller Chris Morris said that this year's vintage release of Old Forester is crafted from a 72 barrel batch that was put into barrels on 24 October 1997.
These barrels were evenly matured together in the very middle of Warehouse K, on the 5th floor in ricks 42, 43 and 45, surrounded by open space, Morris said.
Birthday Bourbon, as opposed to the standard Old Forester, is hand-selected by Morris from one specific day of production.
Old Forester Birthday Bourbon comes at a suggested retail price of $49.99 and is available at various liquor stores in the US.
